My Thoughts:
Shireen is depressed after her breakup with her girlfriend and her best friend is having a blast with her cousins in Bangladesh. Donuts and The Great British Bake Off are not enough to keep her from wallowing. That is until she gets the email that she will be a contestant in the first Junior Irish Baking Show. This is a way to showcase her family's struggling donut shop, You Drive Me Glazy, and fulfill her dream of bringing Bangladeshi desserts to the Irish audience.
Adiba Jaigirdar is the author of The Henna Wars so she still brings forward queer characters who stand up to racial bullying with a little humor and a lot of gumption to stay true to their culture and do a good job.

Shireen Malik is still reeling from the breakup with her ex-girlfriend, Chris, when she receives news that she’s been accepted as a contestant on a new televised baking competition show.
