Castle in the Sky Film Comic

My Thoughts:

Hayao Miyazaki's films have a certain quality of fantasy and action. The storylines are familiar to kids who read Roald Dahl. In other words, the kids are always good, but sometimes the adults are suspect. Castle in the Sky is no exception as the two kids, Sheeta and Pazu run away from the pirates and explore a new floating world. 

The artwork is true to the film, but this is specifically called a film comic, which means that watching the film is key. If you see his film, then the film comic will just be a reminder of how magical Miyazaki's films are. 

The difficulty is that I am reading a digital arc/pdf so every page is stamped with a caution watermark that this cannot be copied. However, if you pick up this book at a library or a local book store, the artwork will make you nostalgic and make you go find the film. In fact, if you are heading to Japan, try to get Studio Ghibli park. Read up on all the tips for getting tickets as we were not successful yet because they sell out fast. 

Also, if you like this Film Comic, they have the other Miyazaki films in comic form, both all-in-one edition like this one as well as smaller books that take the film in "episodes." I think it is not really to read, but more to experience.
